Rhodes College announced Billy Cameron as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach. Cameron becomes the second head coach in the program’s history.
“It’s a great day for Lynx Men’s Lacrosse,” Director of Athletics Jim Duncan noted. “Coach Cameron brings a wealth of on-field experience and understands the student-athlete experience at a high academic institution. During the interview process, his competitive spirit and passion for lacrosse and student-athletes was evident.”
Coach Cameron spent the last eight years as an assistant at Hampden-Sydney College. During his tenure at HPC, he coached both the offensive and defensive sides and brought a wealth of tactical experience. Coach Cameron also served as a strength and conditioning coach at Hampden-Sydney.
He also served as an assistant coach at Bridgewater College from 2012-16, where his program played its first varsity season in 2013.
As a player, he was a four-year starter and 2008 All-American at ODAC member Roanoke College. As a senior, he was a first-team All-ODAC selection and helped lead the Maroons to a pair of NCAA semifinal appearances and two ODAC Championships.

I look forward to building on the foundation that has already been established in pursuit of Rhodes’ next SAA Championship.”
